Remember Bartcop? Bart's still around.

And as awesomely persnickity as ever.

I used to read him every day - even bought a couple of his CDs as a Christmas present to convernt a friend to become a Democrat (it worked!) But as distractions took over my life, I quit visiting his site so much. I think it was his embrace of Clinton's candidacy in 2008 that finally turned him off for me. But today a friend relinked me to him, and it turns out Bartcop is still there and maybe more onery (and more necessary) than ever before.

from Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Romney_(politician)) :

George started working in wheat and sugar beet fields at the age of eleven and was the valedictorian at his grammar school graduation in 1921 (by the sixth grade he had attended six different schools). The Depression of 1920–21 brought a collapse in prices and local building was abandoned. His family returned to Salt Lake City in 1921, and while his father resumed construction, George became skilled at lath-and-plaster work. The family was again prospering when the Great Depression hit in 1929 and ruined them. George watched his parents fail financially in Idaho and Utah and having to take a dozen years to pay off their debts. Seeing their struggles influenced his life and business career.

Physical labor is character building. Enduring life's ups and downs is character building. If you ever wonder at Mitt's lack of character, try looking at what his developmental years lacked.

When I changed computers a couple of years ago, I lost/forgot. I'm in my happy place now

Also, I saw something about Mitt's mom and dad, and I have to say, I completely dug his mom. She sounded like a very cool woman. She was so progressive, and this was the early 70's. It's so sad when you sell your soul, isn't it?

Either Mitt is lying when he says that he has nothing to hid in his taxes, or he is calling his father a lier.

What'll it be Mittens?

And he's been manning his station like no one else in the good fight.

Ironically, it was Mitt’s father, George Romney, who released 12 years of tax returns, in November 1967, just ahead of his presidential campaign, thereby setting a precedent that nearly every presidential candidate since has either willingly or unwillingly been subject to. George, then the governor of Michigan, explained why he was releasing so many years’ worth, saying, “One year could be a fluke, perhaps done for show.”

Could be why he's still around, without a false "claim" in the mix.

You probably didn't intend the insinuation, I'm just touchy that way.
