Forget Rep. Omar! Trump and Pence should be the ones apologizing for allowing their Middle East/Israel policy to be written for them by the likes of Zionist/fanatic billionaire/mega-donor Sheldon Adelson and evangelical loons who think Jesus' return depends on Israel expanding.

(4,291 posts)Perhaps not the Antichrist as the bi-bull thumpers have been anxiously awaiting, but theyre more than willing to settle for this orange-skinned beast.
The thumpers have such a huge hard-on for Revelations that anyone who promotes the idea of Jerusalem emerging as be-all and end-all of places on this planet is not only OK by them, but a holy sign. Hence the move of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
They dont even realize theyre being pandered to, theyre so blind to the fucking obvious.
I have to wonder how much of this foreign policy horror show is the result of Pence whispering into the ear of the filthy beast. And reinforced by the Faux Gnus echo chamber.
How soon will this nightmare end?
Beam me up Scotty, theres intelligent life on this planet, but those in control are not listening to them!

A little context: the cartoonist, Dave Willis, grew up in a strict conservative evangelical household, and Joyce, the little kid/older kid/young woman in this progression is something of an alter-ego of his about how that bubble bursts for some people, and of some of the hypocrisies that manifest in the people for whom it doesn't burst.
This is the first I've seen it, so keep re-posting it!
I know others have said/posted this, but my inner heathen/infidel almost wishes the Rapture would come and sweep up the believers, sooner rather than later. I won't tempt fate by asking what tribulations could be worse than what we're seeing now, but if that lessens the traffic and crowding in some areas -- not to mention freeing up a LOT of real estate (mega-churches, and televangelists' mansions, for instance), it makes one wonder.

(37,161 posts)...but was covered up because The Select turned out to be about 150 people in an obscure splinter sect of the Amish.
Unfortunately, I don't have a good enough poker face to really milk that line of bullshit.

(6,254 posts)Fox and the right-wing media have convinced a large percentage of the population that liberalism=weakness, socialism and elitism and have no idea that if not for liberal policies than most of their their lives would be much worse off. So my friend views Trump as this brilliant, charismatic businessman who we are lucky to have as President. They hate Obama with a passion and think he is the racist. I asked my friend to tell me just one Trump or Republican policy that made his life better and he couldnt manage to explain one policy position. He hates Warren, Booker, Harris etc and when I asked why, he hated these people he couldnt articulate reasons for his hatred. Fox is the cause of this divide and until we resolve our Fox problem we will remain a divided nation.

(6,254 posts)especially when you see it in someone you know. It matter little that Trump and the Republicans offer nothing and their policies hurt their supporters. He has tapped into the anger that Republican policies have created and view that anger as a result of weak Democratic administrations because that is what Fox has told them for years. Fox is the biggest problem.
