He is an old-time Dirksen-Javits style Republican, even though he's from South Carolina.

He is so disgusted with what "his" party has become, I think he's ready to bolt. He is a mutli-millionaire, and could retire tomorrow if he wanted to. He just has more fun working than not working (sounds VERY familiar, except for the net worth part). I told him our door was open any time he wished to mosey on in. He didn't say no (!!!!!).

Man, they were something back in the day, bigger than the Jonas Brothers. You couldn't turn on the teevee machine without some yammering dipshit whining about the deficit as if it was coming out of his personal pocket. Trump blows a several trillion dollar hole in the budget and balloons the deficit, and the Tea Baggers are silent.

1. Massive tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.
2. Well, whaddya know?! Now we can't afford all those "entitlements" you freeloaders have come to rely on!
3. Cutbacks in every budget area that benefits the public.

They are sickeningly predictable in their greed and heartlessness.

They're waiting for the 2020 Democratic landslide before again starting up that weary clarion call, of course.
