Trump has $50,000 room-sized golf simulator installed in his W.H. quarters. #ExecutiveTime

President Trump has installed a room-sized “golf simulator” game at the White House, which allows him to play virtual rounds at courses all over the world by hitting a ball into a large video screen, according to two people told about the system.

That system replaced an older, less sophisticated golf simulator that had been installed under President Obama, according to two people with knowledge of the previous system.

Trump’s system cost about $50,000, and was put in during the last few weeks in a room in his personal quarters, a White House official said.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss details of the president’s private residence, said Trump had paid for the new system and the installation personally.

President Trump has built his schedules around long blocks of “executive time” — unstructured periods in the day where the president’s schedules show no official meetings. He often spends this time watching TV, tweeting, holding impromptu meetings and making phone calls, aides have said.

these things don't simulate putting. So you'd always one putt. Heck, to some extent you could claim you holed out from off the green.

I would have thought a golf simulator would be one of his top priorities, way before a wall or a military parade. Well now that he's got his golf simulator, he can start work on his next project ... a sex simulator.

No amount of practice can help his swing. His swing looks like he has ignored everything his golf instructors have told him. Only he knows more about golf than anyone, believe me

He definitely seems like the kind of guy who would fail the first lesson because he claims he knows more about it than anybody.

A spokesman for DC Fire and EMS confirmed the medical emergency that brought a fire truck and ambulance to nearby Lafayette Park at that time. A man fell ill on a park bench across the street from the White House at 8:09 p.m. Sunday. Emergency responders were on scene from 8:12 to 8:47 p.m., according to communications chief Doug Buchanan.

Medical emergency that conveniently occurred just outside of the Rump's room, or bright light dementia therapy?

For me both are equally plausible.

Between this and watching all those TVs, it's a wonder he has any time at all for rest and relaxation.

I recall what punishment it was for him to stay at the White House during the government shutdown. Now I see how hard at work he really was.

Poor thang. Sad.

golfing with him tells stories about him cheating like crazy -- brazenly, obviously, and utterly without shame. Even if he's alone in his room with the golf simulator, he'll want to cheat.

This is one thing I can't blame him for. Note that Obama also had one. I'm sure the reactions in this thread would be less reserved if not for that tidbit.

Newer and more sophisticated versions are coming out all the time. I'm sure that's what accounted for the switch. He undoubtedly used the Obama model until testing out the new one elsewhere, and deciding to have it installed.

It really doesn't take that much time to use. You switch to a specific hole on a specific course and try it time and again. Or a block of holes. I have one friend in Las Vegas who has a $15,000 model that is a few years old. I've tried it for 5-15 minutes at a time and been fully satisfied.

BTW, cheating is possible. You merely change the settings and the ball will travel further than actual. That is necessary to sell these type of machines since they are so expensive and trend to an older crowd. Nobody wants to simulate a famous hole they can no longer play effectively due to lack of distance.

But the golf stores are sometimes known to temporarily juice the low end generic simulators to fool a customer who is sampling a new driver. He thinks he has gained 20 or 25 yards with the magic wand, so he buys the thing. Meanwhile he gained nothing.
