The Trump family and its foundation are tryingagainto argue that the New York attorney generals office is pursuing allegations of self-dealing against them for purely partisan reasons.
In a Friday filing, President Trump, his three eldest children and the foundation noted that state Attorney General Letitia James, who assumed office in January, has vowed to use every area of the law to investigate President Trump and his business transactions and that of his family as well.
They further alleged that James ran on an anti-Trump campaign where she expressed grave antipathy and animus towards Trump, referring to him as an illegitimate President.
The suit is gratuitous and a misuse of public resources, the foundation alleged, brought only because of the clear bias of the Democratic attorney generals office.

So criminal enterprise is whining again about the NY AG.
Do you think that the documents that were found by a newspaper and looked at by the AG of New York, that said that you, your father, sister ( former judge) and now your family have defrauded the state of New York out of 400 million taxes, is BS, lets bring in the CFO of your enterprise for all of those years and ask him what he knows...................
I have a answer to this situation, hand over your IRS and State Tax returns..........................prove to me and millions of others that not only are you fraud and con man, that , just maybe you and your entire family should be shown what the RICO Act is all about.........................and just for fun the Logan Act.....................so bite me...........................your a traitor, its that simple, to this country.........................

(24,703 posts)to trying to conceal that they broke the law, are usually the ones that are guilty.
What is really galling about this is when the state of New York was on the verge of filing for insolvency, this criminal enterprise was defrauding the state coffers of money owed to the state.....................

(23,955 posts)seems to me, unless a serious misconduct claim can be established, the NYAG is well within their rights to express "grave antipathy and animus as desired. impartiality is provided by the judges.
or is this a new thing where if i do something wrong and get indicted for it, i claim the police and the DA are "biased against me" in some way? does this only work if you're a rich white Republican? i think the family of Eric Garner might have some observations about prosecutorial bias in NY.
some of the judge's comments are reported in the article:
>>>
Judge Saliann Scarpulla in November rejected the foundations motion to dismiss the suit, calling the allegations laid out in the petition very serious.
I find that there is no basis for finding that animus and bias were the sole motivating factors for initiating the investigation and pursuing this proceeding, Scarpulla wrote in the ruling.
In court, too, the judge has chided both parties for trying to drag her into a fight over partisan motivations.
I know you all argued about political bias and stuff, Scarpulla said at an October hearing. I dont want to get into that.
The color is whatever you put on it or the AG puts on it, but not something thats interesting to me, she added.

so that's what a professionally impartial judge had to say about the mess. seems like Trump's bunch is trying to load up a wagonload of "prosecutorial bias" manure to fertilize the jury pool.
