Is the Virginia fiasco somehow related to the "normalizing" of Donald Trump?

Can there be laws for one side and not the other?

If Republicans are willing to accept 19 charges of sexual misconduct against their President, should not Democrats be willing to accept similar charges against a Lt-Gov in the state of Virginia? Have the standards been lowered?

If Donald Trump is ever impeached, what moral ground would Democrats stand on if they permit similar incidents to go unpunished?

If Donald Trump can see "good on both sides" in Charlottesville, why should Democrats punish their Governor and Atty-General for dressing in blackface or hooded KKK uniforms?

If, after investigation, Democrats refuse to ask these officials to step down, are they sharing the moral low-ground with Donald Trump and the Republicans?

Would that make it much more difficult to ever impeach?

Anyone that says they shouldn't resign, cause we would lose the state to the GOP. Is supporting lowering the bar of decency and supporting white privilege. Multiple Democrats have pointed out that all three can resign and appoint Democrats to their positions.

In the last few weeks on DU I've seen multiple posters support Northram staying, too post excusing a Senator terrorizing her employees. If these stories came about Republicans, they would be shouting how they should resign.

So to answer the rest of your questions. Yes, the lowering of standards continues. Yes, we'll have no moral ground to go after Trump effectively, and we'll finale be as horrible as the GOP.

I was watching Jack Ryan on Amazon last night. The episode involved Jack and James Greer having to work with a human trafficker to locate the family of the Big Bad for the season. Jack thinks they shouldn't have to compromise; James thinks it's part of the job.

Basically, politics is now "The other side is a terrorist with a weapon of mass destruction" and anything we do to stop them is justified.

This slippery slope doesn't end anywhere good.
