Fox News host Pete Hegseth explained on Sunday that he doesn’t wash his hands because “germs are not a real thing.”

Following a commercial break, Fox & Friends co-host Jedediah Bila revealed that Hegseth had been munching on day-old pizza that was left on the set.

“Pizza Hut lasts for a long time,” Hegseth replied, defending himself. “My 2019 resolution is to say things on air that I say off air. I don’t think I’ve washed my hands for 10 years. Really, I don’t really wash my hands ever.”

“I inoculate myself,” he continued. “Germs are not a real thing. I can’t see them. Therefore, they’re not real.”

First, I doubt there is any way a person can go 10 years without washing their hands and eating on a daily basis. You do not have to wash your hands every five second, but at some point you are likely to do something that causes your hands to get dirty to the point where you have to clean them in order to be able to eat. For what he said to be true, in the last 10 years this man has not worked on his car, cleaned his home, or yard, ate any greasy or messy/liquid based food(s).

Second, I doubt a person, man or woman, can go 10 years without washing their hands and have hands that look that clean. That man's hands are too clean for someone who does not wash their hands. Just through regular living (doing things not considered dirty work) your hands will get dirty and will need to be washed just to look clean and presentable.

The only thing he can claim is that his hands get clean during his shower/bath process, but he does not consider that cleaning his hands. Therefore, he does not wash his hands and has not washed his hands in 10 years.

I think this just said that to get a rise out of the FOX News viewers. He and the other FOX News hosts probably believe/know that the FOX News viewers will believe everything that is said by the hosts. The hosts probably think saying things like they have not washed their hands in 10 years gives them credibility with their viewers.

I'm not OCD about it, but I wash or sanitize my hands in my car after leaving a store, when I get home, and before eating. Despite a crappy diet and little to no vitamin supplementation, I rarely catch colds or the flu, even when exposed to it.

Sometimes after being around a sick person or accidentally ingesting germs you get that feeling in your throat--which to me, indicates my body is actively fighting germs. For me, taking a prenatal vitamin the same night usually stops any further progression. YMMV. Lol.
