while watching PoliticsNation tonight, my a-political hubby asked "Why do you watch all this"

He said, you didn't used to fixate on political shows night after night. What changed?

I said 45 committed treason to take the white house and I have to stay on top of the news.

It hit me. I NEVER worried about the State of Our Union when we had President Barrack Obama in our house!

Now I worry every day-heck sometimes every hour@

I am constantly concerned. I was never like this with President Obama. Even with President Bush my anxiety levels were normal. This is our nightmare and we are not waking up. Scary stuff, indeed.

not like I want to take pills, but it was a must. I got pretty hysterical the first month or so.

pretty sure that's what messed me up and caused the C-Diff that took 4 months to heal.

But in this case one better be on high alert at all times with this treasonous monster. He’s a political Antichrist.

Are we going to be ok? Will this fucking nightmare end? If it does, whew!

But if it doesn't...where do we end up? Because the damage that is being done and the confidence people have in a better, more prosperous future is incalculable at this point. And, similar to what happened in the financial crash of '08, we may find just how tenuous the house of cards that is our nation right now, under this completely evil administration, which may be HQ'ed in Moscow.

I am terrified for my kids and grandkids. What is going to become of us? Will there be internal warfare? Will there be economic ruin? Are we going to lose everything it's taken decades to build?

What is going to happen to us and our kids?

There is no way of knowing. And, deep down inside, it terrifies us.

I never had one bad night of sleep while President Obama was in office. I knew he had our backs, I knew he would take care of us and the country. And it didn't matter if we were Democrats or Republicans, rich or poor, he was going to take care of all of us.

Now I wake up every morning, and I pick up my phone to check the news. And every time I do that I have fear of what the idiot in the White House has done before I have even gotten out of bed.

I actually had a terrifying nightmare about four or five months after he became *president.

I dreamt that my phone had gone off with an emergency alert. And in my dream, I didn't have a smartphone. So the only message I could get off of my phone was to run to my TV and turn on the news. And in my dream, when I turned on the TV, we were being told that we had 30 minutes before the bombs hit.

The last time I had a nightmare, I was a child. 2020 cannot get here fast enough.

I probably appear to be insane, because I am constantly yelling at him on the TV, and telling him he's insane. Or I say it about him when I am reading the news.

I truly believe he has no awareness of anything other than himself.

My best friend and I were discussing how we would only watch a part of Obama’s press conferences because his answers were so scholarly and thoughtful that they would go over our heads and we both have advanced degrees.
Before Orange Cheetolini, I never had dread and anxiety conversing with strangers wondering if they would reveal themselves to be MAGAts and instantly turn our interaction hostile.
My morning routine now consists of squinting and turning my head from sideways to straight on to the news or the paper, afraid to see what he has done today.
Above friend and I walked miles and knocked on a ridiculous number of doors before the midterms. We used to just write a check or go to a fundraiser.
God I miss having competent people in charge.

we're discussing this topic recently.

Where was everyone? How did we spend billions on black ops and not see this coming? Why were we, here at DU more aware of what was occurring before our stupid cable media?

How was Trump even allowed to win the top of the ticket for the Republican Party? Where the hell was our security?

for our democracy. I called my Senator in early 2017 asking for the dumpsters impeachment, something I had never done before. The powers at be, i.e. corporate let this happen and I believe they thought he could be controlled. They have been conned too.

29. Worst fight of my 24 year marriage was election night 2016.
Tue Feb 12, 2019, 12:33 AM
Feb 2019

I’d gotten home a little late from work and was scrambling to get dinner going. My then 11 year old politically engaged son had called me on my way home and was very upset...he was saying that the people on MSNBC were acting worried that the MF might win. I assured him over the phone that it was so early and Hillary would pull ahead etc etc. My son was unconvinced and it was like a pall had descended over me, over him and over our household. My politically uninterested husband came home from work and the child and I were quiet and clearly stressed...husband said “what’s up with you two?” I looked at him with tears in my eyes and said “I’m a wreck. It’s happening. He’s going to win”. A-political husband laughed out loud and said “OMG you need to relax”. Yep. He said that....and let me tell you it was fucking ON at that point. Horrid night. I like many of you haven’t slept 8 hours in two plus years. I was back in therapy within a week and am still there. My now 13 year old son is still politically interested and engaged...I love him so much. Every day he gets home from school and asks what crap MF45 pulled while he was at school. We can laugh about it, thank goodness. I thank the universe daily for all of you here on DU. This place has saved my sanity and probably my marriage. I love you all. ❤️
