How to conduct a useless poll

The reason businesses are not spending much money is a lack of customers. Other factors (uncertainty, taxes, etc..) are trivial reasons compared to the big reason, which is a lack of demand.

But if you poll small business owners and allow them to pick multiple answers of what would get them to spend and invest more they will, not surprising, say yes to anything that seems positive.

Would tax cuts cause you to spend and invest more in your business? Sure. Why not? They wouldn't make you spend and invest less. Same with fewer regulations, or certainty about the business environment... sure, they wouldn't hurt.

But lack of sales/customers/revenue would beat tax cuts five or ten to one if this poll asked the respondent to pick the most important factor.

The poll missed a very important question ... they neglected to ask if receiving a BJ on the third Tuesday of every month would affect their investment/spending patterns.

I agree ... that poll is useless.
