Wells Fargo customers are still experiencing slow access to their online banking services, long wait times to talk to representatives, and direct deposit not showing up in their accounts a day after smoke was detected at one of Wells Fargo's facilities, causing a large-scale outage where some people found themselves unable to use their debit cards or access their online accounts entirely.
The company said in a statement on Twitter late Thursday night that the event was not caused by a cyber security attack but solely because of the shutdown at its data center in Shoreview, Minn.
"We apologize for the inconvenience caused by these systems issues," the statement said, "and any Wells Fargo fees incurred as a result of these issues will be reversed."
As of Friday morning, most online services and debit card use were restored back to normal, the company said in a press release, with the exception of features like consumer credit card and mortgage balance.

I have a Wells Fargo account. Went online this morning to check some balances. Everything seems to be running albeit slowly. Didn't bother to do any transactions.

Wells Fargo will find hundreds of ways to screw you over and you will never recoup the money they steal from you.

(6,994 posts)would write a check locally in the afternoon and if it happen that utility company banked with WF the check would clear first at midnight and they would issue a service charge for returned check.
Or the same thing would happen with my Direct Deposit and debit card transaction.
I went to WF and closed my account and the day I did that they were installing a new sign out front and I told them a foot note needed to be added to the sign " Division of organized Crime" and they called security.
But there were a couple customers that were waiting perhaps to open account and they walked out.
Been with a Credit Union since 2004 and no complaints

(82,849 posts)Open an account with a credit union. Put in the minimum deposit. Have it as a back up should you need to move your money out of Wells Fargo in a BIG hurry.

(25,183 posts)After their criminal behavior? You know, setting up fake accounts and screwing people's credit behind their backs and all that.
I wouldn't eat at Chipotles or take a Carnival cruise, either.

Sometimes I feel the need to send some companies a message on the way they treat some of their customers.

(25,183 posts)I presume you are a fellow Seattle Seahawks fan, and probably a present or former Northwesterner, like myself. I don't patronize firms that do dirt to other people if I can help it, if you wish to, that is your choice, I'm sorry I came across as scolding.
It's just a matter of time before your ox is gored with some of these firms.
