Explain what Jim Jordan was trying to accomplish by hammering Matt Whitaker? Trying to get at Rod Rosenstein? A trump appointee?

They want him out of the way so Whitaker can sabotage it asap. Barr will come in an effectuate the next phase of the coup.

ETA: They probably think they can replace Rosenstein with Whitaker when Barr steps in.
