Democratic Socialism is basically capitalism with strong regulations and a government-run safety-net. That safety-net, THAT is the socialism in Democratic Socialism.




Call it "The Scandinavian Model"

Democratic Socialism is widespread in Europe, but "European Model" doesn't sound good. Everybody knows that Europeans are decadent perverts and wusses with all their big governments and pastries and cafés and bicycles and pedestrian zones and leftist treehugging and tofu and electronic dance-music and kinky porn. Who would want that???

But "The Scandinavian Model" ...

The name "Scandinavian Model" would tickle the racist bone in every proud Aryan. Scandinavia makes you think of tall, blond, blue-eyed people. It would be hard for the right-wingers to trash a policy that comes from tall, blond, blue-eyed people.

Socialism comes from South-America, from icky brown people.

But Scandinavia...

...how much of our society is already socialized. And how much money people spend annually on things like military, police, corporate subsidies, etc.

Keep pointing out the degree to which we socialize the pain and loss but privatize the profits and who that ends up benefiting.

just saying, these people have hard programming to turn off when mentioning socialism. New descriptors must be used in conjuction with using "FREEDOM"....freedom will get their attention.
