Congressmen Mike Kelly and Kevin Brady claimed attempts to make Trumps tax returns public threaten the privacy of all U.S. taxpayers. Releasing one persons returns, they argued, is a slippery slope towards eroding all Americans right to privacy.
We believe all Americans have a fundamental right to the privacy of the personal information found in their tax returns, the letter reads. This isnt about the tax returns of presidents and vice-presidents, but about making sure Congress does not abuse its authority.
The pair said if Democrats arent satisfied with the annual audits, FBI background checks and existing financial disclosures the president is subject to, they should legislate a thoughtful solution to require additional disclosures, rather than weaponizing our nations tax code by targeting political adversaries.

(82,849 posts)Kelly and Brady are already crying uncle. Buckle up, boys. You're in for another 23 months of even worse. You might want to do a little review of your own recent past and see if there isn't reason for more personal concern beyond Trump's tax returns being publicized (just like Trump promised the American people he himself would do).
