That he hoped to live long enough to see Trump go down in flames. He was hit by a car while biking last year and as he lay prone on the street, the attending cop asked him who the president was. He replied, “Dumb Trump”.

Thu Feb 7, 2019, 10:44 PM
Feb 2019

Before she was released from the hospital a social worker was sent in to make sure she was mentally well enough to go home alone. I was there for the exam and it started with the "What year is it?" and some other easy question & Mom answered both. Then she asks "Who is the president?" Well, Mom, who like to behave in a ladylike fashion, could never say Bush's name without saying "That ass" in front of it. So I saw her hesitating before blurting her usual response out and I saw the Social Worker looking concerned and finally Mother says "Well, Gore was elected, but Bush is living in the White House." To which the SW replied "Your surgeon didn't think you needed this visit and I see that she was right." And she left.

I can't imagine what Mother would think of Trump (she died 2012), but her sisters who are 93 & almost 97 are still here. The 93 year old is in great shape but my older aunt is not doing as well and, like your dad, is hoping she gets to see Trump go down. (This is a woman who called Nixon's resignation "one of the happiest days of her life".)

His generation, my fathers as well, is slowly disappearing. Many sacrificed their lives for US. Until my uncle passed, he attended meetings and donated to support groups at the local VA Hospital.

He has had 5 stents and quintuple bypass, and would be ready to go except for one thing. He REALLY wants to know how it all comes out.

In the meantime he keeps chairing his Saturday group of Yeller Dawg Democrats. His adult children take turns driving him there since he has macular degeneration and a fair amount of dementia these days, as well as being hard of hearing. In spite of that, he rides herd and keeps the conversation organized each week.

He chairs the group although he's to the left of most of them.As a young man he was fired for trying to organize a print shop and was blacklisted, so ended up an owner/manager since my mom absolutely refused to move out of South Austin. Life long union man, owned one of the only printshops in Texas with a union label.

Very much a Berner, and despises Trump.

stick around for the outcome. This should not be a problem for me health wise. The wacky drivers here in Phoenix are more likely to cause my demise than will any health issues. I suppose that it will be possible to develop high blood pressure if that criminal remains in office beyond 2020.

I only have a few years left and am OK with it (if there isn't pain). What pisses me off most is not finding out the ending of this national nightmare. I am an atheist so I don't believe I will be able to drop in from Heaven and check out the current events. I read the last chapter of a book first do I know how it ends and I can follow the story better. Same goes with this. I MUST know what happens!!!!!!

I suspect the only question left to answer is 'which one'---fort levenworth, or rikers island?

Personally, I'd prefer rikers--a windowed cell, so he can gaze on his beloved Manhattan for the rest of his worthless days. But honestly, I would have preferred Bin Laden been captured alive, sentanced to life and then given a prison 'cell' in the highest room new york could build for him...so he could spend the rest of his life looking out over the capatalist juggarnaut that even HE couldn't destroy.

out of curiosity...I wanted to see what "a room with a view" (more like a cell with a view) would actually look like. I approve! However I am a "do unto others" person, actually, like Karma, and I want him to suffer more than that. If he is found guilty of treason he should suffer throughout eternity in the most painful way possible for the pain he has caused to so many people in just the two past years alone (emotional, financial, physical, mental harm to so many innocent adults and children).
