Note: This video is from 2004/5. It is, however, representative of my life in Minnesota since then. I was just 60 years old in that video. I'm 73 now. Uffda!
Everyone keep warm and safe, please, if you live in the upper Midwest.

(32,717 posts)We've been having springlike weather since last weekend. Ice and snow melted and now we're looking muddy brown, but nobody is complaining. Enjoy your snow while you have it.

(1,533 posts)Have to go back out and deal with the stuff that has fallen since about 1:30. Wish it were a little colder as this stuff is thinking about being wet snow. Nice to have a snowblower with a clean carburetor.

(146,325 posts)Than the last one, but not too bad. It carried easily across the driveway, so I didn't have to redo anything. I spray my chute with silicone spray before each use. That has made a big difference in the throw distance.

(1,533 posts)Supposed to help wipe out the snow with each rotation. Sounds good, but seems like a lot of work.
I take back my wish for colder - went out to deal with the afternoon snow and it was colder. Wet gloves didn't help any, but the snow flew farther just now. Some of it back in my face - Braille snow blowing is not for the weak of heart... Just have to remember to shut down the blower and use it as a plow when the only direction you can use is into the wind.

(90,773 posts)Our new big yard came with a gardener who pronounced the prior owner's landscaping "boring!" Between the drought, his bad attitude, and the fact he let the irrigation system die, I had no idea that the bare corners had bulbs beneath the dirt. So I bought some bulbs at the nursery and had the new gardener (who completely redid the irrigation system) plunk them in -- to my joy, about 10 times as many are coming up as were put in. Last week my SIL thinned out a patch of purple iris and gifted me a couple of bags full of the result, so those are now in the ground.
The rains have finally covered our fire-blackened hills with brilliant green, which will last until about mid-June, when they will get all crispy, but not black.
I don't know when your crocus and such start coming up, but I have read they come up through the snow, which is very neat. Stay warm, my friend
