Thrashing of the economy: have you heard?

I have been reading about something is going to happen with the economy sometime in December of this year. This morning one of my clients who is a wholesaler of scrap metals in the waste materials industry said the business has been literally shut down globally, especially in the U.S and in the European Union. He mentioned the “thrashing’ of the economy is coming and all he hears from the businesses is that “rich” people know what is coming and it will happen around in December. The dollar will collapse and this will turn like the 1930s.
Have any of you heard anything like this? Am I supposed to start panicking?
