The Senate Judiciary Committee is poised to approve William Barr's nomination to be attorney general Thursday in a vote that is likely to be mostly along party lines. Democrats have raised concerns that he may limit the scope of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in U.S. elections.
Following the committee vote which is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. the nomination will be sent to the full Republican-controlled Senate, where Barr is also expected to have enough support to be confirmed in another vote that could come as early as next week.
Ranking Member Sen. Dianne Feinstein called a memo in which Barr was critical of Mueller's probe "disqualifying," saying she's worried that he has not committed to releasing Mueller's report to Congress. She also raised other concerns, including his reluctance to clearly categorize waterboarding as torture. Sens. Dick Durbin and Chris Coons are among the other Democrats who have also said they'll oppose Barr.

(23,146 posts)Barr is drumpfs' mole whose main role is covering up & impeding the Mueller investigation and any other attempts to bring drumpfs' criminality and treachery against the United States into the public realm. This just means the results will be subpoenaed and go to SCOTUS where the only question is will Roberts support the constitution or Russia and Repug party? Our national identity is riding on this question.
