I see Schumer is already criticizing my State of the Union speech, even though he hasn’t seen it yet. He’s just upset that he didn’t win the Senate, after spending a fortune, like he thought he would. Too bad we weren’t given more credit for the Senate win by the media!

Everybody knew that it would be a freakin' miracle if Democrats picked up seats and got the Senate majority in 2018. The politics and math just weren't there.

Well, except chumpy. Chalk this one up as yet another "who knew?" from the only guy who didn't.

11. The media played it up like a horse race as well

In a normal year with a "normal" Republican president (say Jeb Bush), it would likely have been a huge pickup opportunity for Republicans. I was saying even in early 2017 on here that if Democrats held even in the Senate, it should be considered a huge victory.

5. republicans lost 23 out of 35 of the senate seats up for election. they got clobbered there, too.

they only picked up a couple seats because republicans got clobbered even worse 6 years earlier when obama was being re-elected.

it's not a "win" when you only win 1/3rd of the seats available.
