Due to some other things that have my attention right now, I can't break down this asinine statement by a Campus Reform mouthpiece, Cabot Phillips, which inadvertently describes everything that's wrong with RWNJs. But in reading what he said, everything pretty much sticks out like a sore thumb. The theme I would chose for my proposed essay would be something on the order of "I Fought Reality And Reality Always Kicks My Delusional Ass."

PHILLIPS: And one interesting thing I see when I'm on campus is so few students being able to actually describe why they care about politics. So, this was certainly refreshing. And, I think it's important also to realize, that this next generation of conservatives is coming of age in a time where they don't really remember President Bush in office. They certainly don't remember President Reagan. So, their entire life, it's been an uphill battle, and they've also had to deal with President Obama, and so, really, this is the first time in their life with President Trump where they've had a conservative in office fighting for them, and I think so many of them, they love President Trump because he's standing up to the bullying that many conservatives have had to deal with, and they're used to having to deal with this PC culture, and President Trump right now is pushing back against that, and I think that's why so many young conservatives feel empowered by him.

(6,831 posts)they're more well-informed and know more than that the college professors who have dedicated an entire career to their chosen field: "If you're a conservative in America today, you're consistently having to push back against . . . your professors." Yeah, because an 18 year old is the font of all wisdom in the universe.
But my favorite is this: "So, their entire life (sic), it's been an uphill battle, and they've also had to deal with President Obama, and so, really, this is the first time in their life (sic, again) with President Trump where they've had a conservative in office fighting for them, and I think so many of them, they love President Trump because he's standing up to the bullying that many conservatives have had to deal with, and they're used to having to deal with this PC culture, and President Trump right now is pushing back against that, and I think that's why so many young conservatives feel empowered by him"

(6,831 posts)Seriously. Last night the temps here in Whatcom County, WA dipped to 10 degrees. About midnite, we had yet another power outage. Damn these Pacific Northwest windstorms. Power kicked back in about 8am, but when I got up, it was 46 degrees in the living room. No, that's not a typo. Started up the little fireplace in the living room.
Went into the bathroom only to find that all of the pipes were frozen. ALL of them. Found that the tub put out some (fucking freezing) drips of cold water from the tap, but the tub would not drain. Plumber did what he could, but as of 9pm, they're all still frozen.
Two hours ago, the lights flickered. Christ. I looked out the window, and there is a tree branch straddling the power lines into the house, which are directly over my car, which now has a dead battery and can't be moved. Called Puget Sound Energy and they said they'd be right out. They're still not here and that branch is just joy-riding in the breeze. I'll probably lose power before the end of the night.
So thanks for the giggle. I needed it.
