Dem senator requests investigation into hiring of undocumented immigrants at Trump golf clubs
Sen. Bob Menendez (D) on Monday requested an investigation into the hiring of undocumented immigrants at President Trump's golf clubs, including one in Menendez's home state of New Jersey.
Dozens of undocumented immigrants have been fired from Trump properties in recent months following reports of the Trump Organization hiring people without proper legal status.
Menendez met with four of these fired employees and then sent a request to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray for the matter to be investigated.
“Given the serious nature of these allegations, I bring this to your attention and request that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conduct an appropriate investigation into the matter,” Menendez wrote.
