Trump is currently selling ad space in the #StateOfTheUnion address!
Yes, your name will appear LIVE during the State of the Union if you give him $5.
This is low point, even for this grifter trash.
He is nothing but a racket. And while we listen to the noise of the racket we risk missing the big stuff. I know this logically - but good grief

(81,578 posts)"Even if you choose to only give $1, the proof of your support will send shockwaves around the world as they see every American who proudly stands behind our President," says the campaign email, which appears to come from Eric Trump. "So before the speech, make your contribution of just $1 to have it displayed right under the livestream of the President's State of the Union."
In addition to the $1 donations, supporters can give to the campaign in $35, $50, $100, $500, $1,000 or $2,700 increments (the largest amount allowed by federal election law).
Donors who click on the form have to supply their name, address, phone number, workplace, occupation and credit card number.

(10,156 posts)It's illegal not to pay suppliers, contractors, or workers. It's illegal to use your so-called charity as your personal slush fund. It's illegal to hire people who do not have a legal right to work in the US. It's never stopped him before. And I'm not even getting close to the merely unethical stuff he's done.

(48,955 posts)If they didn't do this last year, they floated the idea. (They = Trump2020 campaign.)
They get away with it because it is for a private live=stream - that is it isn't part of the actual telecast.
Keep in mind that we have learned that Trump viewed money fundraised for his transition - as "his" money - not as money raised for a designated function and subject to rules per expenditure. That is consistent with the troublesome (lack of accounting) for the Inaugural fund as well. Point being that while this mat be a campaign effort - and a really crass one at that - Trump would view all that is raised as "his" money. Thus okay - and even good!

(23,743 posts)So unless the networks agreed to this, I don't see it happening, unless some on-line RW podcast is going to do it or maybe FOX News. But C-span, NBC,MSNBC, CNN, ABC and CBS will not do anything as sleazy as what is suggested.
