It boggles the mind. Does he think anyone believes his bullshit? Does he believe his bullshit?

President Trump says that the "only way" Democrats could possibly win in 2020 is to "bring out the artificial way of impeachment." But in an exclusive interview with "Face the Nation" moderator Margaret Brennan, the president defended his leadership of the country, saying "you can't impeach somebody for doing the best job of any president, in the history of our country, for the first two years."
And how do you win by impeaching the best President ever? Wouldn't folks be upset with the Dems for that, instead of, you know, cheering from the rafters.

real and Robert Mueller will have his due.

(52,317 posts)they consistently make the lie/exaggeration the headline and the lead-in to the top story, often the *top* story.
they've generally gotten much better about noting that the statement is incorrect, and they're sometimes even calling it a lie or almost calling it a lie at least.
but you're right, sometimes it's so completely ignorant and clearly made-up as to be effectively delusional.
but the msm will never call it that.

He needs to go, may be he will have a meltdown tomorrow night.
He truly believes this: saying "you can't impeach somebody for doing the best job of any president, in the history of our country, for the first two years."
Boy, someone just arrest him and put him in a padded room. He is totally delusional.

(9,897 posts)He lies about EVERYTHING - big things (his "success" , small things (crowd sizes), important things (Russian puppet for Putin's agenda) and trivial (anytime he starts off 'I'm hearing...' - as if he is some kind of svengali sitting on high with informants whispering seet news to his ears).
It is constant. It is mind-numbing. It is working...
His "base" are lemmings too stupid to be helped. They are going to be the first ones goose-stepping as his new Gestapo given 1/100th of a chance. They are beyond the pale and irredeemable.
The people that worry me are the ones utterly fatigued and gaslit by the constant barrage of inanity and prevarication. The ones who don't necessarily like to talk or hear about politics but nonetheless are registered "independent" voters. These are the people who hear "no collusion" mantras and internalize them subconsciously - then, because they are less than fully engaged, they begin to believe the lies. It is insidious and mind numbing to watch, but I see it happening all around.
The goddamn media is complicit in this, the same way they were with his election. They allow it to go on, they allow him to bully interviewers, talk over questions, shout "excuse me, excuse me, excuse me" like the Kevin Spacey character pounding the Christmas tree in the movie "The Ref":
and the normalization of Trump goes on...his aberrant behavior is excused, his utter lack of depth or understanding of literally ANY aspect of the job is swept away and the whole freaking cycle begins anew the next 12 hours. So much air time is wasted discussing the latest outrage that the media begins to look like nothing more than an outrage machine and Trump pulls out his victim card to reinforce the narrative in the pliable minds of the barely engaged and the exhausted, well-meaning others.
In the end, the media should starve the beast...stop covering the President's new outrages until the old ones are adjudicated and resolved...his conduct in Helsinki? his backing of Nazis in Charlottesville? his pussy grabbing comments from the goddamn campaign? that is just the very tip of the iceberg that is the Trump catastrophe. And yet it marches onward every day...today more "leaks" confirming what anyone that can fog a mirror knows - he does next to no actual governing work at all.
I have never desired more to read the words "...was pronounced dead after a massive heart attack" in my life, because short of that fucking piece of shit dying of natural causes, we are going to watch 2 things happen over the next 21 months that will kill whatever is left of this country - 1) our democratic field is going to eat itself in the primaries and 2) Trump will be re-elected by an even smaller margin but claim an even larger 'mandate'.
