Did I hear he use to be a Republican? From the south? That says a lot about the ignorance of white, in the south, failing when it comes to the subject of racism. They haven't really listened. Even if he just became a Democrat the last decade or so.

Being done with this, at this point does not hurt the Democratic Party at all. We are not eating our own. We are fully getting a picture and it does not belong on our platform.

Personally, I can not get past the nickname of coonman. Everything is offensive about that name and he was well aware as a teenager what it represented. Not only did he allow himself that nickname, he was proud enough about it to put it in print. I can picture that white, teenage male in the South and I reject that person in that image.
