I googled is Adam Levine a Democrat? Something called Hollowverse.com replied thusly....the site seems a bit dodgy..I have never heard of a navy blue Dem in my 67 years !! And calling FOX a conservative staple like it is even a news org...
Levine is a registered Democrat And hes got the Obama-supporting stats to prove it. In 2008, Levine publicly endorsed Barack Obama on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. Then, in 2012, Levine took his Obama supporting to a new level of profanity, tweeting:
Dear America, if you dont re-elect Barack Obama, Im gonna lose my shit.
But Levines no moderate Democrathes dark blue, like navy blue. Hes huge on gay rights. Levines brother is openly gay and hes lent his star power to advancing the gay rights cause from appearing on the cover of Out magazine, promoting a gay teen support organization, and refusing to hold Maroon 5s after-the-Grammys party at a restaurant that supported Californias Proposition 8 against gay marriage.
Plus, he sent Fox News (a conservative staple) a friendly message after he heard a Maroon 5 song on the channel. It was:
Dear Fox News, dont play our music on your evil fucking channel ever again. Thank you.

(8,812 posts)Not a fan of the style but, I respect the talent as musicians. Adam can actually slay guitar riffs.
That aside, I love the fact he told Fox to fuck off. I got so sick of trump playing Stones at his KKKlan rallies. This move makes me feel much better after all the loses to Cowboy Blake Shelton. Anyone wanna guess Blakes politics? Fox should be forced to only play Kid Rock, Nugent, Charlie Daniels, and Christian hymns.

(2,698 posts)I've heard that numerous times when he approaches the mic at his rallies. It's so fittingly ironic that only a moron like Trump, along with his moronic cultist followers, could miss it.

(1,687 posts)At sometime during their halftime show Maroon 5 should broadcast a few chords of Jimi Hendrixs recorded Woodstock national anthem and take a knee.

(12,604 posts)If it is, then he cant stop them. And Maroon 5 would be getting paid for it.
But if its NOT, then he could sue them if they continued.

(2,067 posts)And that studio will license Maroon 5's music to anyone willing to pay.
Do while it's great he's taking a stand, it's really only a request; he unfortunately probably has zero control over who uses the music he plays and for what purpose.

Once you sign on that dotted line you kiss any rights to your art goodbye. Worked out financially for them but they have no legal authority left.
Studios very rarely retain any rights to musical creations. Record labels, however, almost always do.

(182,883 posts)You clearly know more than I do but as I understand it music in certain short riffs is available to use as buffer in and out of commercial. This came up with talk radio when Limbaugh used some Rush music and they fired back at him. The problem was that it's all or nothing: the song owner doesn't get any royalties but it's familiar music and those little bits remind people of it. You can either receive the benefit of having an ear worm planted OR get completely out and no one can use it but you can't pick who uses it.
That was my understanding
