Dozen cars catch fire at Newark Airport parking garage

WABC-TV:

NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- One dozen cars caught fire at a Newark Airport parking garage.

The fire broke out on the top deck of the Terminal C parking lot Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded quickly and put water on the fire.

No injuries have been reported. There was no impact on airport operations.

that an insurance investigator saying that almost all car fires are intentionally set. Cars are built specifically to not catch on fire.

on fire. He definitely didn't set it himself. Of course this was in 1985. He was a nice old Jewish man. I sometimes wish I could return to those simpler days of a rental furnished apartment (the top floor of an old house).

used to catch fire because the crap Strombergs were right over the starter and would catch fire right after the ignition was turned off about ten minutes later after the driver went into the house.

Parked cars almost never catch on fire. More importantly, they NEVER catch on fire this many in one place unless there is some external event. About the only noncriminal event that might explain this would be a fuel leak that ran underneath multiple cars.

That's why there's nobody fighting that fire. No hydrant up there, either, I'm betting. Not good.
