Joe Biden. Hillary Clinton.

(29,672 posts)most qualified just might not be the best candidate for us. REALLY, ANYONE WHO SEEMS the opposite of him might just be the ticket for the Dems. JMHO.

people seem to want a newer candidate. I can see Hillary an/or Joe entering and winning if something happens that demands experience... a major political assassination, North Korea launches a nuclear attack, Russia invades a NATO country, another Great Depression, etc... something that illustrates why it's good to have an experienced President.

Both Biden and Clinton would be the most qualified

(1,603 posts)The Presidency is an interesting job - it requires a fairly deep understanding of how complex systems work, but it also requires that a person be inspiring and capable of leading.
I voted for Hillary Clinton on the basis of her competency as an administration. However, for all the questions about the legality of Trump's presidency, Clinton failed on the leadership test. She was never able to control the narrative, and during the campaign she came off as being unable to fend off the attacks against her. Was it an unfair benchmark? Oh, yes, absolutely, but you do not get to be president by playing fairly. You win it by assuming your opponent is going to be a bastard, and you build your whole strategy around that. Clinton underestimated Trump badly, not necessarily his intellect, but his abilities to sell himself. She didn't do the same, and the end it cost her the presidency.
Jury's still out on Biden. I like Joe - he's the kind of guy that reminds you of your favorite uncle - but again, he doesn't inspire. A good president shouldn't necessarily be the best at all things, but he or she should be the kind of person that makes you want to give your best to make a shared vision possible. A good president also knows how to delegate the rest.

(5,803 posts)I am really tired of seeing the ridiculous narrative that she ran a bad campaign or was a bad candidate.

(10,830 posts)I too am tired of the false narrative. Trump has been illegitimate since election night. Hillary Clinton's 'loss' was manipulated, the election was stolen and Trump--as well as many in the GOP--are compromised treason-weasels.
