Trump's Appeal
I have to admit, I will never really understand why so many people supported Trump and continue to do so. He is vile, foul-mouthed, amoral, narcissistic, etc. I'd like to think that if ANY Democratic candidate behaved like he did, they would quickly lose their elections! I have some acquaintances on Facebook who occasionally share some right-wing memes, and I usually just do a "hide all from" so I don't have to see that shit, but today someone posted one and I clicked on it and read the comments. Basically the meme said that Trump was the "Father Figure" that America so desperately needed! UGH.
The comments were enlightening! There were several who said how much they "loved" Trump, and that just makes me shake my head. I don't think I've ever said that I "loved" ANY politician! It's a weird thing to say, I think! Others were saying that he "kept his promises" even though he really hasn't.
But the type of comment that showed up the most, I think, really explains his "popularity." His supporters LOVE his combative, name-calling ways. I think that's what it boils down to - they love it when he insults people, trash-talks, and otherwise bullies "libtards" and "snowflakes." That's the only thing that matters to them - Trump insults and tells liberals how it is. They don't care WHAT he does as long as it makes liberals mad, even if what he does ends up hurting his own supporters. It is a sight to behold!
Of course, on those threads there's also the obligatory trashing of "illegals" and all that racist horseshit, but even that takes a back seat to liberal tears!

I don't watch reality TV, it always seemed to just be an excuse to show people fighting and yelling at each other. But I guess there is a market out there for it. Personally, I prefer a well scripted drama to a bunch of lame setup and let it go bullshit.
Now we have that in the White House.
