I count on the pain of GOP Senators more than the cowardice of Trump. It would take 20 R plus all D to override a veto.

Could be lots more scandals before the budget comes up again.

Laguardia shut down - a major NYC airport, and others were following. The shutdown was turning into a nationwide catastrophe.

The Senate GOP knew they were about to be tarred-and-feathered, so they caved, and forced Trump to cave with them.

They came out of the shutdown smelling like they've been swimming in an outhouse cesspit (in a national park during the shutdown), and they won't want to go through that again.
