Feeding the narcissist's ego

I was in a restaurant to day, and they had a screen up with CNN, nonstop talking about the govt shutdown, the vote in the senate etc.

And it struck me, the narcissist in the WH must be thrilled, he's getting even more attention now because of this stunt.

How can he get more attention? Probably by declaring a National Emergency.

Then I thought about the SOTU. He's given up. He got beat, but actually what may have happened in his mind is Pelosi got more attention than he was getting out of the deal, so he had to abandon it.

Part of the solution to this madman is to steal the attention away from him when he pulls these stunts. Pick and choose the battles for attention.

It is a complex problem because it involves the media.
