MSNBC national security reporter Ken Dilanian said Wednesday that Michael Cohens claim that President Donald Trump has threatened his family could leave the president exposed to another felony charge: witness tampering.
Witness intimidation is something that the president has been accused of, and what he has been doing with Michael Cohen online, said host Katy Tur, asking Dilanian if the presidents frequent attacks on his former fixer added up to a crime.
Many legal experts have said on our network and other places that this could add up to witness tampering and witness intimidation, replied Dilanian.
[Convicted Trump presidential campaign manager Paul] Manafort was charged with witness tampering for seemingly less than this, for simply articulating a false story to a witness, he continued. Perhaps this will a subject of the long awaited report by special counsel Robert Mueller, whether this fits into the pattern of obstruction of justice that Mueller appears to be investigating.

the United States, the attempt to alter or prevent testimony is sufficient. There is no requirement that the intended obstruction of justice be completed.
