(6,139 posts)Love Warren but I like her in the senate. I like Harris positivity and optimism that I so miss in a president. Biden has not declared if he is running, I think he may decide not to - I beleive Harris has much better chances of winning in the general because I just cant figure out how Bidens views any different than Clinton or Obama.

(24,252 posts)explode our turnout at the voting booth.
I mean bigger than Obama in 2008 kind of turnout that we will need in order to win in 2020.
Also, we need to give our next President a Democratic Senate in 2020 so I think that we can afford to "lose" a senator from California where Harris will be replaced by a Democrat automatically, unlike a Sherrod Brown of Ohio, or even Elizabeth Warren in MA, a state that too recently sent Scott freaking Brown to the Senate in a special election.

(6,139 posts)With Gavin as governor and dem supermajorities in state legislature, our state is turning sharply progressive. Orange country now is solidly blue thanks to its large asian population that trump helped to turn solidly democratic. Kamala will explode dem turnout and she is the ultimate antidote to trump - a black woman and a daughter of immigrant parents; shes been called female obama for years and was predicted to become president when she first became attorney general of CA. I think she will connect quite well with midwestern voters due to her undeniable sincerity and honesty. Shes always been consistent and she never compramises on values. She is a talented prosecutor which positions her well for debates due to her natural precision of language. She pledges to not accept corporate money for her campaign and rely on small donors instead.
