(15,543 posts)to this man, to Native folk, and to all decent Americans. What a disgrace the republican "values" are. Degenerate. Deplorable.

(86,638 posts)It's so simple. I live in the west where a lot of Indians live, they are my family, friends and neighbors. I have a close association with several and when we have conversations about their culture and the dominant culture and issues like this horrid event, or any interaction really, they tell me,
"All we ask is that you treat us with respect."
And, apparently, after a centuries-long campaign of genocide/ethnic cleansing which they have survived, we can't even do that because we have lost our minds as a decent people. We don't even know what respect is or who to show it anymore, not that we ever showed it to the Indians, ever.
(By "we" I mean the Euro-American people who came here and took over and the ancestry right down to this dominant culture that we are today.)

(9,426 posts)Those students were a disgrace to their families, and to their school. I wonder where they could have learned such oafish behavior?? The one closest with the smirk on his face looked like a young version of Paul Ryan. We all know how HE turned out.

The smirk on that hate-filled teens face, was so scary. So utterly embarrassing too that he is from a catholic school.

(3,728 posts)such a punchable face.
Wonder if he knew the guy is a Vietnam vet. Not that it would have mattered anyway. The "chaperones" in the back did nothing to intervene, looked like they even encouraged.
I'd like to think the little punk and the other teens who egged him on will someday look back on the incident with regret, but alas I think with his surroundings and ingrained bigotry, now fueled by trump, will only exacerbate the mentality...
