Where Does the Trump Story end?

The last few days we could all feel it coming. The Trump presidency is done. It seems pretty obvious that Barr was brought in to clean the carpets and he has already commented that if Trump did in fact subborn perjury he's guilty of obstruction of justice. This is a hint to me that the exit was already being arranged. It will probably be a deal for pardons from Pence like Nixon got because they certainly don't want an impeachment process that would air all their dirty laundry and Barr cleaned up the mess for Poppy. At least that's what I think will happen, but who knows what will happen when you are dealing with a lunatic. He was told by the GOP leaders before he shut it down not to do it, but he did it anyway. In my estimation the reason McConnell will not bring the funding to a senate vote is because the way things are now Trump has no bill to sign and can't end the shutdown so the decision is his. I expect the big boys to all enter a room soon with Trump and close the door and not leave without a signed resignation.
The problem with all this is Pense is even dumber than Trump, so I will have to assume they are not going to give him the reigns of power unless they have control over him. So in essence, McConnell, the most hated politician in the US becomes head of the Senate and de facto President. So what are we going to do next? In some ways I'm hoping that Trump won't resign because that will end up in a cataclysmic disaster for the GOP of untold hearings and revelations. In the meantime we are facing the biggest crises in my long lifetime of the poor losing their foodstamps and housing, the civil service being destroyed. To put it in personal terms I am scared as hell. Either way the next 2 years will be hell with either one of two incompetents as President and a Senate comprised of some of the worst of the worst. I'm hoping someone out there can point out a brighter future that I don't see.
