I am a Democrat. I like the way we choose our candidates and I trust my fellow Democrats. Our candidates will be awesome and I will not be denigrating any of them.

(3,131 posts)I fully expect to disagree with something every candidate has said or a current position. Hell, I dont fully agree with anyone on everything.
You arent electing a saint you are picking the person who will do the best job. I hate the expression lesser of two evils. You have privilege and therefore the responsibility to make the choice of who is best.
People should definitely point out flaws and their opinion on how important those flaws are. At the same time remember you dont know what your choices will be when the primary comes to your state. Ill reserve making a decision until then and cant imagine voting for anyone but the Democratic candidate in the general.

(145,481 posts)I would not be able to name a candidate who I agreed with on every issue. The choice of a candidate involves balancing a number of issues.

(11,949 posts)This is a Democratic discussion site and we are heading into a primary, that like all will have some strong opinions.
I will commit to discussing policy, records and electability. But will not attack candidates with gratuitous slander.
From what I have seen lately here I am encouraged.

(16,646 posts)We really don't agree around here of what words like "attack" or "denigrate" mean. One man's critique is another man's attack. And it is difficult to either contrast and compare or advocate for a candidate without someone feeling their candidate is being slighted.
