If we can't have Nancy Pelosi as Prez, my ideal ticket would be Al Franken and Kamala Harris.

(5,272 posts)than a Sanders? If so, I'd love to hear your reasoning. I'm sure its excellent, and not about a label at all.

(25,487 posts)This includes, but is not limited to, Michael Bloomberg and Bernie Sanders.
If you can't be a Democrat now, you don't get my vote in 2020 when you temporarily become a "Democrat" for the ballot.
JCanete
(5,272 posts)than Trump, but no "independents." I asked you a question that would help me clarify exactly what you are saying, because you did just basically say a Manchin would be a worthwhile choice. Would a manchin be better than a Sanders or not? Its not a trick question.

(5,272 posts)who think Trump should declare a state of emergency. Have you actually thought your words through before typing them?
If so, I submit that your criterion is drastically flawed. Maybe care more about the issues than the label.
Trumpocalypse
(6,143 posts)And I have no problem with Manchin.

(5,272 posts)policy, and not voting, and not rhetoric. Just the D. You could be any old D. Thank you for clarifying. Justifying that position I imagine, would be a lot harder, but I won't bother trying to get you to do that.

These are my only litmus tests currently
- must not have ever been in favor of gay conversion therapy
- if they had an opportunity to vote, they must have voted for sanctions against Russia in 2017 for interfering in our elections. Furthermore they must have not skipped out on the final vote to stop Trump from lifting sanctions on Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, who was one of Putins point men for his interference in our elections

I haven't made up my mind yet. Ideally a governor, but I'm giving everyone a chance.

(11,343 posts)I like Whitehouse. Love Warren and Harris. Love Beto and Kennedy.
Klobachar is good. I wouldn't write off Gillibrand just yet.
One things for certain. We've got GREAT Democrats to choose from.

(14,317 posts)Harris/Tester or Tester Harris. Biden anywhere on the ticket would bring competence, sanity and continuity to a fractured government.
I dont care for Gillibrand and I am dead set against Gabbard. Other than that, we have a hell of a strong field coming. Lets see who rises after the first debates.

Ann Richards and Molly Ivins ... they'd do a better job than any living Republicans.
But seriously ... Sherrod Brown and Elizabeth Warren would be a great ticket.

Repeal of the tax breaks on the rich and the reinstitution of estate taxes,
Reinstitution of financial regulation,
Endorsement of a green new deal,
Willingness to fight for reproductive rights gender equality and civil rights,
Protection of the poverty stricken and vulnerable populations
Need I go on?
Now it's up to the candidates to convince me that is what they stand for, not up to me to guess who will do it.

(3,259 posts)Harris, Warren, Gillibrand, Castro, and a guy whose name I cant remember right now. Im interested in hearing him on a bigger stage talking about a universal basic income. I hope he carries himself well as the more its discussed the more comfortable people will become with the concept.
Gabbard Im not to high on. Biden seems like its a tease again, though he wouldnt be at the top of my list. OMaleey, who I was hoping would run, has seemingly and strangely endorsed ORourke.
Im really pretty open. My favorite actually seems to be a list of favorites. Kick butt contenders. Looking forward to see who else gets in. Id really like to see some executives jump in.

(32,712 posts)That puts Georgia in play once again although we still have crooked kkkemp & co working hard to suppress votes.
Yes, Lewis is 78, but Biden, Bernie, and Pelosi are at or around the same age.

(4,667 posts)Her: (opens her mouth)
Me: And don't say "anyone but Trump."
Her: Okay. Uh . . .
Me: There's a lot of talk about Klobuchar. (we live in MN)
Her: Klobuchar would be awesome. But who I'd really like to see is a woman of color, like Tulsi Gabbard or Kamala Harris.
Me: Not Gabbard.
Her: Why?
Me: As recently as a decade and a half ago, she was a pretty big homophobe.
Her: Okay, not her. Harris.
Me: Okay. How about Harris/Klobuchar?
Her: Sounds good. Sweetie, can I have some of your Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
Me: *glower*
Her: *pouty look*
Me: One cup.
Her: Okay.
Me: Okay.
Her: Actually, the reason I'm asking is because it's on the top shelf, and I'm ridiculously short.
Me: *sigh*
That last part has nothing to do with OP. It's just the kind of life I live.

(54,412 posts)Al Franken or Howard Dean leading the ticket and Joe Kennedy III or Amy Klobuchar as VP.
I might as well start buying lottery tickets for all the chance I have of seeing any of THAT happening.
My prediction, by the way, is that no candidate thus far declared (or making serious noises about doing so) will be on the ticket, though Castro MIGHT make it to VP, but that's just because he's from Texas--sentimental favorite.
