he clearly doesn't understand that the Afghanistan trip isn't a pleasure excursion for her but a business trip on behalf of the United States. She might not really even want to go but probably sees it as her duty. He doesn't get that there is a very good, entirely supportable security-based reason for rescheduling the SOTU address until after the shutdown, presenting it in writing or giving it on TV from the Oval Office, all of which would fulfill the constitutional requirement of a report to Congress. But Spanky wants to see and hear the GOPers cheer for him as he insults and demeans the Democrats, the FBI and Bob Mueller, and he wants to do it now, while the government is shut down. Pelosi's trip, however, is not a publicity stunt, and he's not hurting her in the least by trying to cancel it (I'm not sure if he can even do that). He just doesn't understand that most things in government aren't, or at least shouldn't be, personal.
