(85,998 posts)...although it's not news to me.
I appreciate her comments, and I'm certain her words of support and encouragement are welcome by the Speaker.

(22,913 posts)Look, all of us it seems have similar expressed positive feelings about Nancy Pelosi, you, me, and AOC. And I know Nancy would be just fine even if we felt the exact opposite. She's a strong woman, just like AOC just said. But AOC praising Pelosi, small a matter as it might be, is a good thing, not something put on Pelosi's plate for her to worry about.

(22,913 posts)I have never before met anyone on DU who was fortunate enough to be inspired to respond to such a high percentage of the emails, that move you enough to reply, with LOL, or as your content.

(302 posts)From the ABC video, she is walking down a hallway in, I presume, the Capitol, and the reporter asks her what she thinks of Speaker Pelosi's handling of the shutdown, and she answers with strong support and praise.
Should she have ignored the question?
Why the snark implying she is somehow deigning to grace Pelosi with her approval?
From reading numerous threads about her on these forums, a lot of people frequently seem upset that reporters quote her and write about her.
Is that her fault?
Why shouldn't she tweet or give speeches or answer press questions? The right-wingers, and, apparently, some DU members seem upset with her.
She probably doesn't speak any more than any other House member. It seems you should be upset with the press for fixating on her, not her for existing and knowing how to get her views out.

(302 posts)Correct, it wasn't to the original post, it was about posts in the thread titled "Glad to see Pelosi has her approval" and the like.
I see a lot of sarcasm and griping toward her whenever there's an AOC thread (and often from the same few names).
I always wonder why they feel the need to take the time to attack a Democrat who happens to be very good at getting media attention for her issues without even trying too hard, and getting under the skin of right-wingers.

(11,738 posts)She was also right to point out that the Republicans shut down the government 2 times when they had full control of government. That argument needs to be made more often and loudly. Republicans did not pursue funding for Trump's signature campaign issue, The Wall, for 2 years and they think they have leverage to "compromise" on the wall now? The leverage they have is that Democrats actually care about people being hurt financially by this shut down. That is the only leverage they have. Like hostage takers.
