Its like living inside the plot of a Tom Clancy novel (pure fantasy, speculation, and conjecture)

Once again, this is pure fantasy. It is conjecture. It is speculation.

Many years ago there was Prescott Bush. He had to be warned against colluding with the Nazis. He later became a US Senator. He begat son George Herbert Walker Bush, who had quite a career. He flew a fighter/bomber in WWII and was shot down. He left the family home in Connecticut and became an oilman in Midland, Texas. He was a Congressman. He was head of the CIA. In an almost Forrest Gump way, he was there but on the sidelines when JFK was assassinated. He was Reagan's VP and later, his savior with pardons when he succeeded him as President. Along the way, he begat a small man who became president and became a very close friend to the man who denied him his own second term as President.

He knew where ALL the bodies were buried. Say what you will of him - and there is absolutely LOTS to say about him - he was the consummate insider. A insider's insider.

He watched as his actual favorite son was denied a presidential nomination by a sharp tongued charlatan about whom he likely knew everything he needed (and we need, for that matter) to know. He and his entire family and brood had no use for the charlatan and made no secret of their disdain for him and, perhaps more to the point, their concerns about him. The old man, after all, was a lifelong cold warrior who never stopped seeing Putin and the Russians as the enemies they are.

His Attorney General was a man named Bill Barr. Barr was a real old line conservative and loyal to a fault to GHWB. Now, many years - decades - later, Barr surfaces again. In a nearly unprecedented fashion, he auditions for the role of Attorney General. He does it by writing effusively in praise and support of the vain man who is a clear and president danger, telling him how he can't be prosecuted. He spreads his unsolicited writings far and wide. And, achieving his goal, has the vain president nominate him, again, for the role of Attorney General.

The man who is a lifelong Bush loyalist is about to become an insider to the clear and president danger of the United States.

Preposterous?

How about a couple of bullet points, some repeats from above:

~Bush was head of the CIA and held that organization in the highest esteem for his entire life. It was in his DNA.
~The clear and President danger went to CIA headquarters, stood in front of their sacred wall, and all but soiled the floor by his presence and words.
~The clear and President danger went on to insult and diminish the entire intelligence community - the same intelligence community that is expert in accomplishing "things" while leaving no finger- or footprints.
~The clear and President danger is known by the intelligence community to be, in fact and indeed, a clear and present danger to the very fabric of our country and our way of life. They know he must go.

Imagine, as he is nearing the end of his most interesting life, George Bush reaches out to his old friend and mentee, William, to ask a favor.

And who can create the coincidence that William and a former Marine and Consummate Straight Arrow, Robert, enjoy a decades long personal friendship?

Where would Tom Clancy go with these background tidbits?

Of that, I can't speculate. Can you?

Once again, this is pure fantasy. It is conjecture. It is speculation.

Cliches become cliches for a reason.

Truth can be much stranger than fiction.

it would be very long, and it would probably be rejected by most publishers with a note to the effect that it's too bizarre to be believable unless it could be published as a fantasy novel.

I look forward to the tv series, though. It would be "House of Cards" on acid.

I did not know any of that about Barr. Wheels within wheels.

I leave it to you to bookmark your own post and report back to us in due time with a reminder of how prescient you are, or not, as the case may be.

Sure can't remember who was talking about Barr being a poison pill to Trump, though.
