The thing is this: In our current political environment, President Eisenhower would have been a Democrat. Importantly, he accomplished some very important goals such as the Interstate Highway system.

One other point, you skipped over President Johnson. His presidency was troubled.

Nonetheless, your point is highlighted as you move into more modern times, say from 1968 forward.
