What a mess. I know how I would feel being forced to work without timely payment.

Soooooo many people are gonna get the shock of their lives when they get their 2018 tax bills. Tax cut, my ass. I seem to remember financial talking heads on tv spoke of an average of $1,000 extra per family ? Whatever the number is, millions will be paying up because someone has to pay for the trillions given to Big Business !

a living and don't live in a house. But at least I'm aware of it. There are tons of people who are going to be very, very shocked.

For many people, the difference between last year and this year will be about $350. If they take the standard deduction and no others, their standard deduction will go up by $5500 per person. BUT what no one is talking about is that the personal exemption of $4100 has been eliminated.

SO the increased deduction is only $1400 (which is 5500 minus 4100), not $5500. A 25% tax on that is $350, so they will pay $350 less in taxes. Hardly worth blowing up the deficit and trashing the economy for, but there it is.

But with changes to real estate taxes, and state and local taxes, and non-reimbursed business deductions, I will lose about 10K in deductions in exchange for that $1400 increase in deductions. And so will many others. It's going to be a shit show.
