Shut down the airports to open up the Gov't

As great as it has been for TSA workers to show up to work unpaid, if there was a day or two of grounded flights, the gov't would re-open in short order because the orders of magnitude of peoples' level of anger. I just heard on the news a Fed employee has to sell her car to pay her mortgage - now THAT'S sad, Spanky - so let people get back to friggin work !

Republicans loved it when the air traffic controllers (who had a union) went on strike and Reagan fired them because feds are not allowed to go on strike.

Indefinitely.

That's the difference between now and then. The air traffic controllers won't be as easily replaced if nobodys getting paid

carried a story from Delta Airlines as to the project 100 million dollar loss for this month. And that is a conservative number as per the story.

best on a Thurs/Fri so they can't fly home.

Keep them in town until they pass a bill to open the gov't.

Two groups of people, first is the business types who fervently believe in their egos enough to feel that "face time" is important to otherwise sell an overpriced under-performing product or service, and then there are vacationers. The latter group consists mainly of suburbanites who have already dissed Trump by voting for Democratic candidates for the House in this last election. He no longer cares much about them.

Planes are full of regular Americans. About half Democrat. Half Republican.

The notion that only Republican fly to boost their ego or go on vacation is a little naive.

And no. The plane isn't half Salesmen, half vacationers either.

Do you know anybody who gets on an airliner just for the fun of it?

I despise flying, last March I took a round-the-country trip by automobile. Yes, it helped considerably that I was retired, but I sure didn't miss being treated like cattle by the airlines.

Oh, and I do intend to fly, but only when I have enough frequent flyer miles to go first class. When you pay dollars for a seat, the price of first class is four to five times the price of cattle class. When you use miles, it's only twice as much. That tells me where to spend my miles earned from non-flying activity, such as use of my credit card.

And I sure wouldn't think of flying now.
