How Is It OK for CNN to Hire John Kasich?
January 16, 2019 at 1:43 pm EST By Taegan Goddard

Matt Welch: “So it’s easy to see the benefits from Kasich’s point of view—regular opportunities to self-promote and criticize the political competition in the run-up to a possible campaign announcement, and you get paid? Sign me up! But the real head-scratcher here is the behavior of CNN.”

“The first cable news network is also frequently the most sanctimonious defender of journalistic nobility, and loudest critic of the way President Trump degrades the norms of America’s political and media culture. And yet here those same people are, paying a newsmaker for exclusivity, and creating a norm that was unthinkable even four years ago.”

And I'm not saying it isn't ..........

This sure is a sweet deal for Johnny, who will get a national platform .... and get paid to spout all his opinions, to boot! All the while he can "make up his mind" whether to run for POTUS or not. He hasn't been shy about hinting around that he might.

I don't think CNN should have hired him, either.

"See? We hired (insert Repuke liar/bullshitter/apologist), so we DO think the GOP's opinions and policies are legitimate!"

Just like NBC and Megyn Kelly.

… he is one ultra-Republican that has the folksy appeal to win over independents and other uninformed voters - and he's smarter the usual lot of them... this means he's not running for President.
