Who holds the key to opening our government?

Is it Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats?

Is it Mitch McConnell and the Republicans?

Or is it Donald J Trump?

In my opinion, it makes no difference what Pelosi and the Democrats might offer, they cannot guarantee that it will open our government. No matter what, it could be rejected.

But Donald Trump holds the master key and Mitch McConnell has a copy,

If Trump tells McConnell to open the government in the next hour, McConnell would rush to do what he is ordered to do by his President.

But, McConnell has a key, also. He could open the government on his own. All he would need to do is bring up the last House bill and pass it. If it got more than 67 votes on passage, it is unlikely that The trump would veto it? If he did veto it, McConnell could request that it be over-ridden.

So, the only two people holding the keys to opening our government are Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.

It is a disservice by the media to portray the government shutdown as a battle between Trump and Pelosi. The Democrats do not have a key to open our government. Mitch McConnell is more than a bystander in this shutdown. The media needs to take note.

It's the voter.

Edited: I'm not trying to be snarky, but when the obstructionists are voted out of office, the problems they cause will go away too.

We must put constant pressure on our reps. I suggest calling every day to remind them how long they have been out to lunch.
