A President, that cannot be indicted, is above the law.

Last edited Wed Jan 16, 2019, 10:27 AM - Edit history (1)

We have heard, from the beginning, that Robert Mueller did not believe a president could be indicted. Now, after yesterday's hearing with William Barr, we hear that the new prospective-AG agrees with Mr. Mueller. There is little chance that Donald Trump might be indicted.

He is home alone.

On top of that, we are told that the investigation that we have been paying for, for about two years, may not be open to the public? You may not get to see it?

Welcome to the new America!

3. That report will eventually get out in total - even if we have to wait for a Democratic POTUS.

They can get this over with or have it drag out until the Republican Party is completely gone. As for Barr, we're screwed. They've got the votes and he's going to be AG. The mystery is why Barr wants to get himself involved in all of this. Does he want a permanent spot in the history books? Is he a Trojan horse? Is he on Vlad's payroll? I'm hard pressed to believe he's a hardcore member of the cult.

6. I suspect Barr wants to be AG because...

...he sees himself as wisdom and experience, the real grownup in the room of Republican children. He thinks they've made a mess of things and is going to get them all straightened out. Hero complex. Wait till he starts drowning in the shit.

The only thing that's known for sure is that this is a big, fucking mess.

7. Putting anyone into a position that can be allowed to be above the rule of law

Undermines our Justice system completely. It then becomes corrupted and unequal . No one is above the rule of law, or we'll have where corruption rules, like it does for putin in russia, where only the most corrupt are allowed to prosper there, and the leader can steal billions like he has from the people , and the government. No wonder trumps wants that here.

9. I thought he can can't be indicted until he's out of office-depending on statute of limitations

And that Congress was going to look into "freezing" the statute of limitations, while a president is in office, so that they can't escape accountability.

Also heard that he can be indicted but the indictment can be sealed. Admittedly, I don't know if delivering a sealed indictment serves the purpose of freezing the statute of limitations, anyway, but it sure seems as if it should. There's just so much swirling around in both the media and in my brain, it's getting hard to keep facts lined up.

Any corrections or affirmations from any legal eagles is always appreciated.
