I finally figured out what the R after some elected officials names means!

Russian! Ron Johnson (Russian-WI), Lindsey Graham (Russian-SC), Ted Cruz (Russian-TX) etc. After the roll call vote on sanctions against a Russian oligarch, it all makes sense.
