Each of these dogs is a hero!

I just spent several weeks in rehab after spinal surgery. My son was able to bring in my two beagle grandogs to visit...by far the best surprise and best visitors a gal could have. Wonderful cuddles, sympathetic whimpers and doggie kisses - great spirit lifters! Oh, for the love of a dog...

It's wonderful that hospitals and other care institutions now recognize the healing power in the love of our smallest family members. It's such a boost at a much needed time.

I'll paraphrase....If dogs don't go to heaven, then I don't wanna go either. I wanna go where they go.

They just know there's a hug on the other side of that door.

Somebody needs to turn about 500 dogs loose in our White House -- about half of them licking Labs and Retrievers, the rest everything from yapping Chihuahuas to slobbering Mastiffs.

Zeusdog would plant both of his front paws on Trump's shoulders, give the guy a big slobbery kiss and then lift his leg on Trump's leg. He knows sh*t when he smells it.

FWIW Zeusdog would never be allowed in a hospital. A very loving, sweet dog, but a "bit" rambunctious aka bat sh*t crazy.

The handler would bring it around the cancer center from time to time.

I hate to admit it, but I was not thrilled. The last thing I wanted to do during chemo was play with a dog. I just wanted to sleep!

One night, totally against the rules, we aides conspired with one elderly patient's family to bring in her gorgeous, red Irish Setter. As the large dog leaped onto her bed, the look of absolute joy on that dear lady's face was something I will never forget! She had missed her furry friend so very much. It was then that her healing began.

I just love dogs, for some reason. They tug at my heart in a way that I can't explain. And these dogs, sitting there so calmly & obediently, waiting to go in...that's just amazing and wonderful and sweet and awesome.
