(53,871 posts)anticipation of running for president in 2020, whereas before she was a FOX-going, Obama bashing DINO.
Whatever it is, she's wasting her time.

(1,607 posts)She learned from Trump's presidential run -- say whatever you have to say to the audience you happen to be standing in front of at that particular moment. It makes campaigning way easier. If you get called out, just attack your accuser and change the subject.
The problem for Tulsi is that won't work with Dem voters like it did with the crowds of GOP rubes.

(5,272 posts)but Obama could be said to have been "conflicted" on gay marriage vs civil unions, since he took time to come around. People evolve their positions, or if nothing else, sometimes test the air to see which way its blowing for the sake of politics.
I'd rather people be conflicted than strong and wrong every time though.

Thank Goodness this is in the Star Advertiser! Thank You, David Shapiro. Bet, Gabbard is pissed this light is shining on her actions
"Gabbard Plays Both Sides in Angling for White House"
The latest example was her op-ed in The Hill accusing Hawaii U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono and other Democrats of religious bigotry for asking U.S. District Court nominee Brian Buescher about belonging to the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic group that opposes abortion and gay marriage.
While ripping politicians in general for weaponizing religion for selfish gain, she singled out only fellow Democrats, bringing a rebuke from Hirono that Gabbard is pandering to right-wing ideologues.
Shes right that nobody should be disqualified from service solely because of their religion; but many of President Donald Trumps appointees have openly blurred the line between church and state, and its fair to ask how their beliefs would affect public policy.
Junior legislators who pick fights with the opposing party are a dime a dozen and get little notice. Gabbard figured out that fighting with her own party makes her a fixture on cable news and gets her op-eds in The Hill.
Shes bashed former President Barack Obama for being too soft on radical Islam, quit the Democratic National Committee in a huff to support Bernie Sanders and blasted Hillary Clinton for not giving Sanders enough debates ironic coming from somebody who wont debate her own opponents.
It's just part of mahina's post here..

"Conflicted".. really?

(5,272 posts)a family that was pretty right wing, but her hypothetical "ticking time bomb" scenario is one of, as Kyle Kulinski said, complete fantasy. It assumes torture works, that we have an imminent threat THAT we know about, and that we KNOW we have somebody in custody who happens to know where that bomb(or whatever) is.

(2,872 posts)just wondering, cause it is well reasoned.. and that doesn't seem to makes it way on here much..

(5,272 posts)have a couple weird positions. If it came down to her versus the usual suspects I would look harder at her, but I'd be more inclined to back Sanders or Warren than say, Gabbard or Ojeda at this point.

(37,364 posts)does not hold Democratic values, IMHO. She isn't even on my F list. I read several well researched items here and elsewhere over the past few days. Not sure who is pushing her, but we can do much better.
