President Vlad would find that interpreter and maybe not kill them, but would kill their whole family and all their friends! I wouldn't want to be that interpreter!

Have him tell all of what putin said to trump , and what trump said back, and if he was instructed by trup personally to not reveal anything he heard. Then subpoena all the notes he was forced to give trump. If trump can't because he destroyed them he's committed more crimes, destroying government owned materials, and obstructing justice . It'll be exposed in other ways too, he just hasn't figured that out yet.

But I can't see the harm if only intel and certain committees see the notes.

Wonder what was said that Trump wanted destroyed. I can imagine, but I bet reality is worse than my imagination.

and if those other nations are discussed, it could mean bad news for the world.

Leaders have to be able to discuss things in relative privacy.

Imagine if FDR & Winston Churchill had to release notes of their meetings before America entered WWII. Hopefully, records of those conversations are preserved somewhere and that our intel or Congress knew, but they could never be released publicly fr Hitler to know what was discussed.

Why not? I'm sure others here would like to know why not.
Maybe some person could get a copy of them and leak them. Maybe the translator has rewritten her own notes or a personal recollection of the meeting. Perhaps she keeps a diary. I definitely would like to know why they can't be released. I definitely fear for her safety.

That can't happen. See my other post above.

Example:
"Merkel: Heir Trump, I think we need to discuss possibly taking action against Assad personally.

Trump: You mean...???

Merkel: Yes. We need to see if we can get rid of him, with our other allies' support, of course.

Trump: That would be a dangerous mission. Have you discussed this with Theresa May?

Merkl: Yes. I think we need to call a meeting. Next week, possibly.

Trump: Get with my people and arrange it."

Giving those notes to Assad would not be a good thing, which is what releasing them to the public would do.

Unless you could somehow show that the conversations were criminal, wouldn't there be a legitimate claim of executive privilege here?

Other presidents don't meet with hostile heads of state with no other American dignitary present.
