I thought that ALL government records---correspondence,

read-outs, transcripts of meetings and conversations, written or recorded contemporaneous notes of such meetings--- were the property of the US government, i.e., the American people. I further understood that there were laws requiring that such records be preserved and, in fact, that it was against the law to conceal or destroy them.

So, Trump surely still has these translator's notes of his private meeting with Vlad and will produce them when requested since he "has nothing to hide".

Right?

and it's about Republicans.

When it's about Democrats, the merest hint that these laws might have been bent is a major cause celebre.

I doubt it was to preserve them. He’s more of an idiot then commonly thought if he didn’t destroy them immediately.

Which I think he's been doing all along, and telling others to do also. He'll claim his meeting notes are gone, but the House will expose from the witness everything that was said, and Mueller will already know it too. trump is also going to have to answer for why all his aides and administration people falsely filled out their security clearance forms, and my guess is he's assured them to do that , and they would be protected. They all lied on them for him. Also all the other evidence all his aides have destroyed will become know too. This makes it willful to deceive showing their intent.

I remember reading he ate notes that he didn’t want anyone to see. It would not surprise me if those notes ended up in his mouth?

Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman continues to keep her name in the mix of Love and Hip Hop: White House, now claiming that your boy, President AssHandles Von BackAcne ate paper allegedly filled with notes after meeting with then-lawyer Michael Cohen.

“I saw him put a note in his mouth. Since Trump was ever the germaphobe, I was shocked he appeared to be chewing and swallowing the paper. It must have been something very, very sensitive,” according to an excerpt of the book obtained by The Washington Post.

So there is a group of people in the White House who retrieve and glue back the fragments. Maybe someone got to these notes in time?

Seriously?

I wouldn't be surprised if they have minions rewriting the records of his history in office as we speak.

Time to watch the playbook.

The Dictator's Playbook PBS Series.

A very timely series. I posted the first episode in Video and MM a few days ago.

Here's the link.

"Official" business communications and documents are supposed to be kept, but I don't know if it's a law or a rule or just policy.

I read that there is some sort of requirement about transcripts of meetings with foreign leaders, for obvious reasons, but I don't know if that's true.
