Or even large vehicle tunnels?

Walls are stupid. For them to be secure, you have to have armed people guarding them. That's not going to happen.

That's why the Great Wall of China has a wide pathway on top of it. That enables soldiers to travel to any place along the border where someone is trying to breach the wall.
